You will learn about the different species of Bats in Montana and what these fascinating night flyers can do! You will also get to participate in the building of bat boxes that will be put up in the park to help our friendly flying insect eaters have a safe place to roost!
Programs are designed for children aged 6 to 12 years old, but children of all ages can register.
A parent or guardian is required to be present during the program (parents/guardians do not need to register).
All About Scat with Ranger Kimmy is a program that will teach Junior Rangers about how to identify animals through their scat, infer an animal's diet, and understand what a food chain is within an ecosystem. It will involve a hands-on project where Junior Rangers will be able to construct their own edible scat replicas and demonstrate their understanding.

Join First Peoples Buffalo Jump Ranger Karlene and learn all about how the First Peoples made cordage from plants. You will get a chance to see how people have used the Yucca plant to make cordage for generations to tie up their tents and teepees!

Montana Wild is partnering with First Peoples Buffalo Jump to offer an educational program about Owls in Montana for our Junior Rangers.
Join Montana Wild Animal and Facilities Caretaker Anna Schmidt and FPBJ park staff for a presentation about Owls that make their home right here in Montana. Did you know burrowing owls call the prairie dog towns of First Peoples Buffalo Jump their home? Come join us on August 6th to learn more about Owls in Montana and the park. We hope to have a special feathered friend join us for the program as well.
