This tour will take you behind the scenes at Bannack State Park exploring the Bannack Mill, which is not open to the public. Learn all about the mining and milling processes at Bannack. This tour is approximately an hour long and will begin at the Visitor Center, where the 1931 Ford AA truck will take the tour group to the mill.

This guided tour will transport you back in time to the days of outlaws and mining at Bannack. Discover how challenging it was to live in Bannack in the early days of mining and learn about how it became the park it is today. This tour is approximately an hour long and will begin at the Visitor Center.
Learn how to paint at Bannack State Paint with artist Sarah Hansen, a Montana native who has been enjoying their art journey for 15+ years. Participants will learn how to work with acrylic paint by painting the Meade Hotel on an 8x10 canvas. Sarah will go through technique and a step-by-step guide to painting the most famous building at Bannack.
Aprons, painting supplies, and canvases will be provided. The session will be limited to 15 people and be held at the Yankee Flats Pavilion.
There is no cost, however there is an $8 parking fee for non-resident vehicles.
All are welcome to join in on this fun afternoon! Registration is required.

The site of the first major gold strike in Montana, Bannack State Park, it can be said is where Montana began. Bannack Days is an annual event featuring food, music, exhibits, activities, and fun for the whole family.
Bannack Days is a popular event and parking is limited. A complete schedule of events will be available at fwp.mt.gov and bannack.org.
Entrance fees can now be paid in advance (does not guarantee parking) or with cash at the gate.
If you are interested in attending the event but want to avoid the crowd join us on Sunday for a bit more relax atmosphere.

This moderate 3-mile hike will begin at the East Trailhead located on the east side of the Bannack townsite. The hike doesn't have much elevation gain but be sure to bring plenty of water, food and sun protection!

Bannack State Park¿s Annual Kid¿s Day is a family-friendly event on Saturday, August 22nd where kids and for anyone that is a kid at heart can come to the park and enjoy different activities. Lewis & Clark Exhibit, Gold Panning, Doll Making, and more.
There is no cost for the event, however there is an $8 parking fee for non-resident vehicles.
Take a guided night stroll through Bannack and hear tales from the dark side. These are not ghost stories but stories from the history of Bannack that focus on the darker episodes of life and death.
The event is outdoors so dress for the weather. This tour will be on August 29th, 2026, at sunset.
Park gates close at approximately 8 PM. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to 8pm to check in.
Pre-registration is required, and the tour is limited to 20.
Open to all skill levels of photographers to take photos of the buildings with the night sky. Access to buildings will be with permission from staff supervising the session.
There will be one session on September 12th and another session on October 10th. Photographers are welcome to come and go anytime in the photo session.
Registration is required and tickets cost $25 a person.
